Lebanon’s Hezbollah confirms that leader Nasrallah was killed by Reuters

DUBAI (Reuters) – The Lebanese Hezbollah movement confirmed on Saturday that its leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah had been killed.

The group said in a statement that it will continue its war with Israel “to support Gaza and Palestine, and to protect Lebanon and its strong and honorable people”.

Israel said earlier on Saturday that it had killed Nasrallah in an airstrike in southern Beirut the previous day.

Hezbollah’s Al-Manar TV began broadcasting verses from the Koran after Nasrallah’s death was announced.
