It seems that we had just begun to implement the changes in practice associated with the commission of the National Association of Realtors in the settlement of cases when a new back-to-back conversation began to disturb the industry – the debate on the Clear Policy of Cooperation.
TAKE THE INMANN INTEL INDEX SURVEY FOR DECEMBER
The controversy began in earnest with an op-ed from the founder and CEO of Compass Robert Reffkin and continued by using a number of ideas on both sides.
Now, the debate will move off the phone, tablet and laptop screens and onto the stage of Inman Connect New York when Mauricio UmanskyCEO of The Agency and a staunch critic of CCP, discusses NextHome CEO James Dwigginswho argues that the policy ensures fairness and transparency, especially for small brokerages.

Meanwhile, finding out which side of the conflict you are on means understanding the opportunities and risks associated with each side. Inman Contributor Carl Medford put options on last week’s most read story.
Medford looks at questions and concerns about Clear Cooperation through the lens of consumer opinions and the agent’s fiduciary duty, writing:
Does it make sense, however, to get there in a way that might undermine our fiduciary obligations to our customers? It seems to me that because of all the other accusations that have been made by Realtors in the past year, many of them focused on the emergence seen by the industry, is it really wise to adopt a policy that seems to be aimed at increasing the units of sellers. and profit in terms of better consumer benefits?
In his analysis of the pros and cons of CCP, he asks tough questions and considers whether the debate is about what’s best for the industry or is focused more on dollars and cents – at the expense of retailers.
