The US will issue a hydrogen credit law this week, in a nuclear way, sources say By Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. Treasury Department plans to issue guidance on how to access tax credits for hydrogen production under the 2022 Inflation Relief Act later this week, according to two sources familiar with the matter.
The long-awaited guidance would provide a way for hydrogen produced using nuclear power to qualify for the credits, sources told Reuters, although details of that plan were not immediately clear.
The question of whether existing nuclear plants should be eligible for hydrogen subsidies has been a major sticking point in the legislation, as environmentalists say it is hydrogen produced by new clean energy sources that should be given the benefits.
One of the sources said the guidelines are likely to be issued on Friday.
The US Treasury Department did not immediately comment.
