Swedish sausage dish

It’s cheap, fast, filling, and starchy, costing <$1/person. This is useful if you have a lot of boiled potatoes from the day before. It takes a while to do though - practical cooking, not just - so I don't do it often. It's really sweet though.

Ingredients:

  • 2 kilos of potatoes
  • 6-8 cylinders of mysterious meat (hotdogs)
  • paprika
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 small can of tomato paste

How:

  1. Peel the potatoes and boil them.
  2. While they are boiling, chop the onion and fry it until golden brown in a large pot.
  3. While they are frying, cut the hotdogs into thin slices and add them to the onions.
  4. While stirring the onions and hotdogs, cut the potatoes into finger-thick slices.
  5. While you are cutting the potatoes, add a tablespoon of paprika to the pot along with the milk and tomato paste. Stir.
  6. Add the potatoes and mix around. Done.

The overall success depends on the mushiness of the potatoes. Usually less is better. If you pressure cook them, don’t pre-cut them. Not that I did anything like that
