How did you get started in real estate?

My husband and I had a bad experience when we bought our first home, with a basement that might have been a swimming pool. Although the process was a disaster, I was excited about how to ensure that my next purchase would be better, so I decided to get my license, and the rest is history from there.

How did you choose yours brokerage?

Until last year, I had another big business for 12 years, but I always felt that something was missing. So, when my daughter joined me in business in 2021, we began looking for a new franchise that would better fit our boutique approach to real estate and customer care, which led us to ERA. We couldn’t be happier with the franchise, the level of support our staff and agents receive, and the quality tools and services available to our customers.

What do you wish more people knew about working in real estate?

It’s not all fun and games and making a commission. We take our jobs as real estate professionals very seriously. We support people in the biggest purchase or sale they will ever make in their lives and it should be more than just someone filling out paperwork.

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?

Not a single deal should die.

What is your top advice for a new license sellers?

Every hiccup or bump in the road is a learning experience. It is an opportunity to develop your skills as an agent and grow in your relationships with your clients.
