Swedish sausage dish

It’s cheap, fast, filling, and starchy, costing <$1/person. This is useful if you have a lot of boiled potatoes from the day before. It takes a while to do though - practical cooking, not just - so I don't do it often. It's really sweet though.
Ingredients:
- 2 kilos of potatoes
- 6-8 cylinders of mysterious meat (hotdogs)
- paprika
- 1 large onion
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 small can of tomato paste
How:
- Peel the potatoes and boil them.
- While they are boiling, chop the onion and fry it until golden brown in a large pot.
- While they are frying, cut the hotdogs into thin slices and add them to the onions.
- While stirring the onions and hotdogs, cut the potatoes into finger-thick slices.
- While you are cutting the potatoes, add a tablespoon of paprika to the pot along with the milk and tomato paste. Stir.
- Add the potatoes and mix around. Done.
The overall success depends on the mushiness of the potatoes. Usually less is better. If you pressure cook them, don’t pre-cut them. Not that I did anything like that
