Coldwell Banker taps Payload for automatic earnest money deposits

Company Coldwell Banker Realty has just made honest deposit payments much easier for real estate agents and home buyers. Technology provider Payment it also includes a consumer company, according to a recent announcement.

With its new merger, Coldwell Banker Realty – a subsidiary of Anywhere Real Estate Inc. —can now process all earnest money deposit (EMD) payments through Check21’s Payload feature. It is based on a federal law of the same name that allows financial institutions to process checks by photographing them.

In 2022, Coldwell Banker is launching digital EMD capture for all agents through an earlier integration with Payload on its My Deals platform – a system designed to replace traditional transaction cover pages – and its Trident account system. Prior to partnering with Payload, Coldwell Banker handled more than 100,000 of these transactions personally. Now, those days are gone, according to the company’s leadership.

“We are very excited to partner with Coldwell Banker Realty to transform their payment method digitally,” said Zach Jacob, Payload’s vice president of real estate, in a statement. “Our technology is perfectly suited to meet the unique needs of the real estate market, and this partnership highlights the potential of automation to drive significant improvements in efficiency and customer satisfaction.”

Kevin Morey, vice president of agent services for Anywhere, also reinforced the company’s commitment to expanding its services with new technology.

“We are always looking for ways to use technology to improve the home buying experience for our team and customers,” he said. “Payload’s ease of integration and payment experience has led to widespread adoption by our agents and real estate buyers, while automatic payment reconciliation has greatly simplified our accounting processes.”

Payload offers more than just automated EMD capture. Coldwell Banker also introduced leasing commission payments and agent acquisitions with Payload, which allows agents to process automatic mortgages, credit and debit transactions, and similar wallets. Google Pay or an apple Pay.
