Facebook’s Meta, Instagram down thousands of users in US, Downdetector shows Via Reuters

(Reuters) – Meta platforms Facebook and Instagram were down for thousands of users in the US on Monday, according to tracking website Downdetector.com.

There have been more than 12,000 incidents of people reporting problems with Facebook and more than 5,000 reports of problems with Instagram as of 1:40 pm ET, according to Downdetector, which tracks outages by aggregating status reports from several sources.

Downdetector’s numbers are based on reports submitted by users. The actual number of affected users may vary.

Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: ) did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
