America’s first title has a new president of the vertical division

First American title The Direct Division starts the new year with a new division president. The four-tier major announced the appointment of Jim Dulle as the division’s new president on Wednesday.

Dulle’s appointment comes as the division’s previous president, Janette Waller, is set to retire in March 2025. The company said Waller will stay on until March to help with the transition.

Dulle is no stranger to First American Title, having most recently served as senior vice president and managing director of the direct division. He has also been involved in information technology, operational leadership and article production.

As of Q3 2024, First American controlled 21.9% of the title volume, making it the second largest company in the country. In the third quarter of 2024, First American’s title division generated revenue of $1.29 million, down 15% year over year. However, direct premiums and premiums collected increased 9% annually, due to a 7% increase in average revenue per closed direct order to $3,926, and a 1% increase in the number of closed direct title orders.
