New Sleep Cycle Report Finds Americans Have Less Stress and Less Sleep Impacts on Election Night 2024 Compared to 2020 By Investing.com

Despite the big election, the New Sleep Report for the 2024 Presidential Election found that sleep cycle users slept better than expected on election night.
GOTHENBURG, Sweden–( BUSINESS WIRE )–Sleep Cycle, a leading sleep technology company, today released its sleep report for the 2024 presidential election, revealing some surprising metrics on how the US Election affected “ or didn’t seem to affect “ a good night’s rest Americans. Users adding a stressful day to their sleep notes increased by 18% compared to a typical Tuesday in October 2024, but this is a significant drop from the 54% of users reporting a stressful day in Election 2020, compared to a typical Tuesday in October 2020.
The report is based on anonymized data from more than 593,000 sleep sessions in the US, where users voluntarily shared their sleep data, as well as data from the four Tuesdays before election night and the results of the Sleep Cycle app survey. - 34.2% of users said the 2024 election affected their sleep, a decrease compared to 2020, when 44.2% respondents reported an effect on sleep.
- Of the 34.2% who reported sleep effects, 92.7% report badly affected their sleep in 2024this is a A 4% reduction in negative impacts compared to 2020 where 96.5% of users realize that it has a negative effect on sleep.
- In 2024 most age groups stayed up later than on election night 2020 “but there was one age group that didn’t. Individuals 18-24 year old go to bed early (2 minutes later) than the last election.
- The age group that has stayed the longest compared to previous elections is from 55-64 yearsgoing to sleep 11 minutes after the last election.
