Stellantis-owned Chrysler will recall about 1.2 million vehicles, US regulators said

(Reuters) – Chrysler’s Stellantis is recalling about 1.2 million U.S. vehicles due to a malfunctioning anti-lock braking system that could increase the risk of crashes, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Saturday.
The 1,227,808 vehicles being recalled by Stellantis (NYSE: ) include 2019, 2021-2024 Ram 1500 models, the regulator said.
“Due to a software malfunction, the anti-lock brake system (ABS) control module may disable the electronic stability system,” NHTSA said in a statement.
He said dealers will update the anti-lock brake system control module software as a solution.
In a separate statement, the auto regulator said Stellantis is also recalling 32,863 Jeep Gladiator vehicles manufactured between 2020-2024, and Jeep Wrangler vehicles manufactured between 2018-2024 as the vehicle’s instrument panel assembly may have an internal short circuit.
