The sexual assault charges against Oren Alexander keep piling up. A woman filed a lawsuit in Colorado this week, saying a New York real estate agent and her twin brother Alon raped her in 2017 when she was 17 years old. It is the fifth known case against one or more of the three Alexander brothers.
Maylen Gehret says she met the brothers in Aspen, Colorado, at the Winter X Games. She said she and an unnamed friend—called the First Witness—were lured by the two brothers to a hotel room with promises of an event.
Gehret said Alon Alexander raped her in the bathroom and forced her to take a shower while Oren tore his friend’s clothes and tried to rape her before running away. The complaint states that Alon tried to rape a third woman—the Second Witness—who passed out in the hotel room, but Gehret packed her things and left with the two Witnesses.
The alleged incident is similar to those in the web of criminal and civil cases filed since March against Oren, Alon and his older brother Tal Alexander, who was a salesman with Oren at the time. Douglas Elliman and later on Official Partners.
Two women, Rebecca Mandel and Kate Whiteman, filed lawsuits against Oren and Alon in March. A third woman, Angelica Parker, sued the three brothers soon after.
In December, things took a turn for the worse when the three brothers were arrested in Miami on federal and state sex trafficking charges. One of the alleged victims in court filed a civil suit after being arrested.
The brothers and their lawyers have repeatedly denied the allegations of sexual abuse and pointed out that the civil charges are lax.
The brothers, currently incarcerated in federal prison, are seeking acquittal on federal and state charges. But prosecutors want to keep them behind bars, saying they are a flight risk given their wealth and international connections.
While the twins, Alon and Oren, were given a three million dollar bond on the federal charges, the district judge in the case suspended their release pending a bond determination on the federal charges.
At a hearing Friday morning, Alon was denied bond and Oren’s hearing was postponed to Jan. 7. Tal Alexander was denied a federal bond, but asked the court to reconsider.
Oren and Tal Alexander were once star real estate agents in Miami and New York City, as they represented many very wealthy and celebrity clients. But the allegations and arrests caused their brokerage Official Partners to close.
Side, the white-label brokerage that Official Partners was affiliated with, sued Oren, Tal and Official Partners for allegedly breaching a $4.6 million promissory note by splitting their real estate licenses. The brothers said that Side created a non-payment event by separating them from their licenses and refused to return them.
After their arrest, Side filed a preliminary injunction against Tal and Oren, seeking to prevent them from moving or liquidating the loan collateral.
In addition, the Department of Justice requested information from Douglas Elliman – where Oren and Tal built their careers – about their trading time.
