Rice, lentils, and bacon

This is an easy dish to make that tastes great because it contains bacon (well, duh!). Apparently, it shouldn’t be repeated because it contains bacon (well, duh!).

You need:


  • Rice (specifically, you don’t need this)
  • Green lentils (I prefer green lentils because they hold their shape better this time, but other lentils work well too. I usually put red and green.)
  • Bacon (you can replace this with any type of cooking oil)
  • Carrots

Cook the rice. I use my pressure cooker which I have an old relationship with

. I use rice to water at a rate of 2/3. I use a drinking glass to measure. 1 glass of rice and 1.5 glasses of water. I let it rip until the big pressure came. Then I turn it off. It’s very easy, it’s not hot.

. I’ve known my pressure cooker longer than DW, actually. Hey, I even wrote a hat to my pressure cooker; in retrospect, I’m still going to write to DW—I hope he doesn’t read this.

. I cover them with water. I then turn off the gas and let the water absorb. Close the lid. Check every 5 minutes and add water to prevent burning. After 20 minutes, taste the lentils. Continue until they are soft. When they are soft, remove the lid and let the remaining water evaporate.



You really have unlimited freedom with the ratio of lentils to onions to bacon. The more bacon you eat, the better it will taste, and the sooner you will have a heart attack

Eat lentils and rice that should be done now. You can cut any kind of vegetables, tomato, cucumber, lettuce on top of this. Works well with soy sauce.
