Tuesday night’s Game 4 of the World Series was a big one.
With the Dodgers up in the series by three games, it was the Yankees’ last chance to stay alive — and the team didn’t waste it.
Although the Dodgers opened the game with a two-run first inning, thanks to yet another two-run homer by first baseman Freddie Freeman, it didn’t take long for the Yankees’ bats to catch fire. In the third inning, Anthony Volpe hit a shortstop that fired up the Bronx’s offense, and ended up winning 11-4 against the Dodgers.
Today’s Game 5 will determine whether the Dodgers will take it all or the Yankees will live to see another game.
On the real estate side of players’ lives, the results of the World Series of Luxury elite in the eight bracket saw the Dodgers’ rookie Shohei Ohtani beat Mookie Betts’ hideous home renovation in Encino. At the time, Inman students preferred Joe Kelly’s sly backyard to Freddie Freeman’s oak-rich new building.
For the Yankees, Aaron Judge’s Chelsea home surpassed Carlos Rodón’s waterfront, St.
Only four luxury buildings remain. Your votes will determine which luxury homes will advance to the finals.
Bracket 1: New lineup for Ohtani’s Hawaii vs. Kelly’s ‘n’ wild backyard
Shohei Ohtani’s new Hawaii build
Ohtani has been impressive on the field so far this season as the designated hitter (though he hasn’t made the long-awaited start for the Dodgers), and the baseball star is getting ready to make another big splash in Hawaii. and the market, as the construction of his new home on the Big Island continues.
Ohtani has acquired a lot in the gated Hapuna Estates within the Mauna Kea Resort to build a 5,000 square foot home with ocean views that will also overlook the eighth hole of the golf course. The Japanese-born player was named the first resident of the development, and as such, received his pick from all 66 available lots. The first houses of this project are scheduled to be delivered in late 2025.
Joe Kelly’s Wet ‘n’ Backyard
Dodgers relief pitcher Joe Kelly’s spunky patio and swimming pool in his Rancho Cucamonga backyard seems to match the off-beat player’s personality. For the past few years, professional pool designers and outdoor designers at Orange County-based Calimingo Pools have completed renovations to Kelly’s backyard and showcased the amazing results on YouTube.
The spacious outdoor area has a fireplace and large seating area, two TVs, a bar and grill and a separate fire pit. The pool, which includes a separate hot tub, is surrounded by decorative stones and light, the water flowing quietly down.
Bracket 2: Chelsea Judge’s Penthouse vs. Stroman’s Malibu oasis
Aaron Judge’s Chelsea penthouse
Last spring, Yankees captain and outfielder Aaron Judge and his wife, Samantha Bracksieck, bought a brand new penthouse at The Cortland in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood. The 25-story building reportedly includes three floors of penthouses, one of which was acquired by Judge and Bracksieck.
The space spans nearly 7,000 square feet and features floor-to-ceiling windows, marble fireplaces and views of the Hudson River. It’s unclear how much Judge paid for the unit, but the price tag was likely high. A lucky buyer could become a neighbor to a baseball major by purchasing penthouse number 25 in the building, which is currently priced at $39.5 million, and is “the centerpiece of the building,” Associates Vice President Andrew Orchulli said. The New York Post.
Marcus Stroman’s Malibu oasis
After a hard season of sweating on the pitcher’s mound, what better way to wind down than relaxing in an $8 million mansion above Malibu’s Carbon Beach? Yankee Marcus Stroman does just that in his Mediterranean-style home that sits on nearly 1.5 acres.
This 5,100-square-foot house also has one bedroom, one bathroom guest house and a swimming pool. On those days when Stroman doesn’t feel like hitting the pool, there’s always the beach, as the property also comes with deed rights to La Costa Beach and the Tennis Club. This five bedroom home also has a wine cellar.
